"Glee" is showcasing the Beatles' songbook.  The Fox series launched its new season Thursday night with the first of a two-part "Beatles event."  Seven Fab Four songs were packed into the hour-long show, including "All You Need Is Love" led by Darren Criss' character, Blaine, in his proposal to Kurt.

Thursday's episode primarily focused on early Beatles songs, and also included performances of "Got To Get You Into My Life," "Help!," and "I Saw Her Standing There."  Kevin McHale and Becca Tobin, as Artie and Kitty, sang "Drive My Car" and "You've Got To Hide Your Love Away," and Rachel, played by Lea Michele, led a performance of "A Hard Day's Night."  More Beatles music is on tap for next week's episode.

"Glee's" new season is their first without star Cory Monteith, who died over the summer.  The show did not address his absence in the premiere, but will cover the loss in the third episode.
