Miley Cyrus has become a contender for "Time's" Person of the Year.
The magazine has announced the final ten people in the running, with Miley as the only musician or entertainer on the list.
As a finalist, she joins N.S.A. Leaker Edward Snowden, Texas Senator Ted Cruz, Amazon.com founder Jeff Bezos, the Syrian and Iranian presidents, gay rights activist Edith Windsor, and Health and Human Services secretary Kathleen Sebelius.
Being on the list also puts Miley on par with people like President Obama and Pope Francis. The annual "Person of the Year" is given to an individual who influenced the news for better or worse.
"Time" will announce its Person of the Year Wednesday on the "Today" show. The magazine's editors will choose a winner, but Miley took third place in their online reader poll.
