Black Sabbath's albums from the 1970s are now available digitally.  The group's early discs are making their debut this week on iTunes, marking the first time fans in the U.S. have been able to get the material in this format. And band members are happy to see it happen.

uitarist Tony Iommi admits he's spent "a long time trying to explain to fans why the music wasn't available," while frontman Ozzy Osbourne and bassist Geezer Butler add that the digital releases are long overdue.

The band's self-titled debut, Paranoid, Masters of Reality, and Vol. 4 are among the releases.  The roll out also includes Sabbath Bloody Sabbath, Sabotage, Technical Ecstasy, and Never Say Die -- the band's last album with Ozzy until last year's 13.

Sabbath's 1976 compilation album We Sold Our Soul for Rock 'n' Roll and the 2006 best-of set Greatest Hits 1970-1978 are now available as well.
