British pop-rockers Keane will apparently be going on an indefinite hiatus starting next month.

U.K. newspaper "The Sun on Sunday" originally reported that the band is calling it quits, but a spokesman explained that they're simply "taking a break" to "pursue their own projects."

Frontman Tom Chaplin is reportedly looking to record a solo album, while songwriter and keyboard player Tim Rice-Oxley plans to spend more time penning hits for other artists.

Keane - which came together back in 1997 - released their fourth full-length album, Strangeland, last year.

The band's "break" is scheduled to start after the release of their "Best Of" collection, which is due out in November.
